The Walker School is excited to announce that Ryan Clements will be the next Head of Upper School. Clements will succeed Michael Arjona, who has been at Walker for 17 years, was recently promoted to Assistant Head of School for Academic Affairs. Both positions will be for the 2025-26 school year effective July.
Clements, who is currently the Head of Upper School at Augusta Preparatory Day School, said, “My family and I are elated to be joining The Walker School community. While visiting campus, I quickly learned that Walker is a special place with talented, creative and truly dedicated students and faculty. I am especially looking forward to the bonds that will be built and to playing a role in the great work that will be done for families in the years ahead.”
Clements’ career in education spans multiple roles, including serving as the Upper School Dean of Students at Tampa Preparatory School and teaching Business and English in public schools in Tampa, Fla., and Newport News, Va. His breadth of experience and commitment to fostering meaningful connections with students and faculty align well with Walker’s mission and values.

Arjona, who will assume his new role of Assistant Head of School for Academic Affairs in the fall said: “Ryan strikes a great balance between a focus on excellence and an ability to thoughtfully and energetically engage with students, faculty and parents. I am excited to partner with him, and I think he will be a tremendous addition to Walker.”
