All Walker students are connected – from our youngest to our oldest Wolverines. Walker students of all ages are active members in the larger school community, building meaningful relationships with students, parents and teachers across all divisions.
Our students actively engage with their peers as part of their regular school day. Upper School students serve as Senior Buddies to students in the Middle, Lower and Primary schools. Middle School students connect with upperclassmen through our Step-Up Program, senior Peer Leaders meet with freshmen to help them adjust to Upper School life, and Lower School students serve as reading buddies for our youngest Wolverines.
In addition to our challenging academic curriculum, students across all divisions also have the freedom to explore their interests through a number of clubs and activities outside of the classroom ranging from Model UN, robotics and Mock Trial to Ultimate Frisbee and the Environmental Club.
More than 70 percent of our Middle School and Upper School students also compete on one or more of our many athletic teams and students of all ages can be seen cheering on the Wolverines in Coles Athletic Center or on Robertson Field. During Homecoming, students in every division celebrate with spirited dress-up days, Field Day activities, a schoolwide pep rally and a fall festival leading up to the highly anticipated Homecoming football game.
As our Mission states, The Walker School inspires transformative learning through meaningful relationships, academic excellence and unique opportunities. We focus on creating and nurturing relationships and fostering a deep sense of community and belonging, actively working to bring our students together to create lasting connections as they help each other prepare for the world around us.
