Within your Ravenna account, you are able to request the teacher, principal, and/or guidance counselor evaluations. All records must come directly from the applicant’s school.

For Primary and Lower School applicants:
We ask for an evaluation from a current teacher. If the applicant has not attended school yet or has been home-schooled, the teacher evaluation will be waived. For Lower School applicants, ask the applicant’s school for an official and current transcript to be uploaded to Ravenna or sent directly to the Walker admission team at admission@thewalkerschool.org. For Kindergarten through Grade 5, the JATP is optional.

For Middle and Upper School applicants:
We request evaluations from the current English teacher, math teacher and guidance counselor/principal. Ask the applicant’s school for an official and current transcript to be uploaded to Ravenna or sent directly to the Walker admission team at admission@thewalkerschool.org. Transcripts must include standardized testing. If no standardized testing is available, please click here to sign up for admission testing with the SSAT website (Secondary School Admission Test). Test results must be sent directly to Walker from SSAT.

Our SSAT school code is 8008.

Step 5: Schedule an observation, shadow visit, and/or interview

For Primary and Lower School applicants: Register your child for the required student observation/assessment visit through your Ravenna account. On-campus observation/assessment visits are scheduled to begin in late December, early January.

For Grades 2-5: In addition to the required student assessment, we offer optional shadow visits to give applicants the opportunity to spend the day meeting our students and faculty and visiting classes. Once you have applied, register your child for the required Lower School Assessment & Shadow Visit through your Ravenna account.

For Middle and Upper School applicants: An in-person or virtual student interview is required as part of the application process.
